Robert L. “Pee Wee” Zeman, 84, of Bradgate, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 20, 2025 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Robert was born March 27, 1941 in Fort Dodge the son of Milford and Frances (Bowen) Zeman. He grew up in Ottosen and worked on the farm with his family. He graduated from Twin Rivers High School, Bode in 1958 and then enlisted in the United States Navy. Following his discharge, he returned to Bradgate and farmed until the early 1980’s. Pee Wee then worked at Stow-Skow Implement, later Satern Service Center, Graham Tire, S & L Equipment and then retired from Chantland Manufacturing in 2003. He was a NASCAR fan, enjoyed the show MASH, Western Movies, time he spent living in Hawaii, worked on the pit crew for Cannon Ball 55 and helped the Weaver Brothers on truck pulls.
Robert is survived by his son Jon (Terri) Zeman of Bradgate, daughter Susie (Bruce) Meinders of Humboldt, his grandchildren; Jake (Christina) Zeman, Jessica (Scott) Muhlenbruch, Allison North, Afton (Logan) Webb and Sam Meinders, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, his sister Phyllis Hansen of Eagle Grove and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Karen, daughter Faith, an infant brother Merle and his grandson, Troy.
Graveside Services with military honors by the Sathers-Odgaard VFW & American Legion will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Clinton-Garfield Cemetery in Rolfe. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service, Humboldt. www.masonlindhart.com
