Shirley Ann Davison went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 27, 2023.
She was born April 16, 1937, on a farm in Humboldt, the daughter of Floyd and Harriet (Potter) Lane. She graduated Humboldt High School in 1955. She married George Lee Kathrens, Sr. and they lived in Colorado for a number of years where she was a trained nursing care provider at Denver General Hospital in Denver, Colorado until her retirement. After her husband’s death in 1988, she married William Davison and returned to Humboldt and the Palmer area. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Women.
Shirley is survived by her sister Betty (Denny) Sorg of North Liberty. She will be sadly missed by her son, George Lee Kathrens, Jr., a.k.a. Dave (Teddi) of Humboldt, grandchildren: Heather Nicole Hanlin (Robbie) of Bode, Damien Christopher Kathrens (Jill) of Gilmore City, Leeann Christine Sather, of Humboldt, great grandchildren Alexander Joseph Hanlin, Mallory and Aiden Brown, additional family members Jennifer Gertson of Dakota City, and Kay Hilton of Gilmore City. She was preceded in death by her husband George Lee Kathrens, Sr. of Henderson, Colorado in 1988 and Sonny Davison of Palmer, Iowa in 2003, infant brother Floyd Lane, Jr., and cousin Sonny Lane of Humboldt in 2022.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 1st at Indian Mound Cemetery in Humboldt with Reverend Katherine Russell officiating. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral and Cremation Service of Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements. www.masonlindhart.com
