Thomas K. Ropte, 70, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, formerly of Thor, passed away on December 22, 2022 at the Gainesville Nursing Center in Gainesville, Missouri.

He was born October 18, 1952, in Fort Dodge, the son of Arthur and Helen (Brattmiller) Ropte.  Thomas was baptized in 1952 by Reverend Elmer Strelow and confirmed in 1967 by Reverend Larry Kudart at Zion Lutheran Church, Beaver Township, Humboldt.  He grew up in Thor and attended Thor Elementary School and later Eagle Grove Schools, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1971.  He then attended Iowa Central Community College.  Thomas was in the trucking business and drove truck for various trucking companies in Iowa.  He later relocated to Canada for a brief period, returning to Iowa and after retirement in 2000 he moved to Missouri.  He enjoyed small engine repair, reading and spending time with his dogs.

Survivors include his sisters: Susan Brock (Timothy) of Prairie Grove, Arkansas and Mary Lou Hiltabidle (Tom) of Eagle Grove; nieces and nephews: Erika Stolzer (Forrest) of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Justin Brock (Kyleen) of Columbia, Maryland and Matthew, Aaron and Melinda Hiltabidle of Eagle Grove and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Marcus.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 19th, 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge with the Reverend Nicholas Thackery, officiating.  The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service of Humboldt s in charge of the arrangements.   www.masonlindhart.com
