Tony Luft

Tony Luft, 77, of Humboldt, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, September 26, 2023 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 8, 1946, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the son of Roy and Goldie (Mischler) Luft.  He graduated from St. Bernard Catholic High School in Breda, Iowa, then attended Iowa State University.  Tony was united in marriage to Sandy Stueve on September 2, 1978.  Together they raised their two sons in Humboldt.  On August 26, 2006 he married Jodi Jensen-Kohlhaas, the couple made their home in Humboldt. Tony worked for Garrison Ford for 22 years. He was later employed with Rost Motors in Manson. He retired from W&H Coop in 2013.

Tony was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus 4^th Degree, past Grand Knight and a forty-nine year member of the Humboldt Country Club.  In retirement, Tony and Jodi enjoyed traveling.

Tony was a kind and generous man, always giving with his time and his heart.

He never met a stranger…

He greatly supported the Humboldt community and was proud to call it home.

Tony’s final gift was of organ and tissue donation through the Iowa Donor Network.

He is survived by his wife Jodi of Humboldt, sons A.J. (Bun) Luft and their children Haedyn, Alexis and Alexander all of Webster City and Aaron (Kathryn) Luft of Prole, Iowa, his step-children Ryan Kohlhaas of Algona and Abby Kohlhaas of Okoboji, brother-in-law, Steve Jensen of Renwick and niece Cindy (Nathan) Dziadosz of Kansas City.  He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Angela and his sister Myrna Jensen.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 30th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.  Private family burial will be in St. Margaret Catholic Cemetery, Rolfe.  The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service of Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements.   www.masonlindhart.com
