Willliam Briggs

August 30, 1950 — April 18, 2015

William V. Briggs, Sr., 64, of Livermore, passed away April 17, 2015 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Livermore United Methodist Church in Livermore. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Livermore.
William Vernon Briggs, the son of Verna Miller and Floyd Briggs, was born August 30, 1950 at Johnson City, New York. Following his education, he joined the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. He married his wife, Christy on February 28, 1979 in Elk Point, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Livermore, moving to Humboldt in 2009. William worked for the Chantland Co. for over 25 years before retiring in 2009.
He enjoyed fishing, collecting coins and baseball cards and especially spending time with his grandson and visitating Evey and Lileigh.
Mr. Briggs is survived by his wife, Christy; sons, William Briggs, Jr. of Friendsville, PA, Angela Sweet of Lawton, Bradley (Tonya) Dahl of Rolfe, Robert (Kim) Wilkinson of Kennewick, WA; daughters, and Cassandra (Shawn) Smith of Livermore; his loving grandchildren, Dominic, Branden, Danielle, Jayden, William III, Brandon, Braden, Brody, and Hazeli; brothers Floyd, Robert, David, (Linda), and Kevin (Sonya) all of New York; sisters, Debra (Larry) Belknap and Gail (John) Lisiesky; Daughter-in-law, April; brother-in-laws, Terry (Mary) Dahl, Jerry (Paula) Dahl, John Dahl, Scott (Deb) Dahl; sister-in-laws, Kelly Dahl; Susan (Colin) Kitts, Nancy Johanson, Judy Nilles, and Leisha (Mark) Prime. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sheila Briggs; sisters-in-law, Irene, Alice, and Cheryl; and brother-in-laws, Tom, Mike, and Pete.
