Yvonnie Johnson Gord, 51, of Dakota City, passed away Monday evening, July 17, 2023 at Accura HealthCare of Pomeroy following a lengthy illness.

She was born July 25, 1971, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Carl and Jolene (Platt) Goettsche.  She was raised and educated in Red Oak, Iowa, attending Red Oak Schools.  Following her schooling, she maintained her home in Red Oak where she worked as a manager for Casey’s General Stores and started her family.  She met Steve Gord and on October 4, 2005 the two were married.  The couple made their home in Dakota City where Yvonnie stayed home to raise her children.   Once the kids where grown she worked as a Regional Manager for Hallmark Cards until retiring for health reasons.  She enjoyed crafts, crocheting and cross stitch as well as, cooking and baking.

Yvonnie is survived by her husband Steve of Dakota City, her children Andrea (Chad) August of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, Valerie Anglese of Crystal, Minnesota, Alexander Gord and Maxwell Gord both of Fort Dodge, Ashlie Schooling and her fiancé Nathan Woodard of Humboldt and Cody Gord of Fort Dodge, grandchildren Hazel, Abby & Harrison, her father Allan Johnson of Stanton, her step-sister Carrie Johnson of Hopkinton, Iowa and step-brother Tracey (Jennifer) Johnson of Villisca.  She was preceded in death by her mother Jolene.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 24th and visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of the service both at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt.  The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service is in charge of the arrangements.
